WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Occupational therapy provides support to people whose health or disability makes it hard for them to do the things they would like to do, or need to do. This type of therapy is essential when someone is having difficulty with everyday tasks, that is, the tasks that occupy them.

What if there is a way to move the body beyond the patterns of pain, tension, and bracing that interfere with our ability the thrive in our daily lives? What if your body can learn new ways of feeling safe and connected so that you have the vitality and agency to do the things that are important to you?
There are many effective techniques to the art of healing and body work that support mental and physical health. I offer a unique perspective to integrative and holistic therapy. I specialise in addressing the underlying body-based connections that support functional movement, mental health, regulation, and nervous system resilience. I use my extensive training and experience in sensory processing, body work, fascia, breath work, yoga, and trauma to help individuals understand their body and nervous system.

Together, we look at patterns of movement, posture, breath, and engagement which may be contributing to your current symptoms and how they show up in habits, routines, and roles in your life.

What do expect during a session:
  • This is a highly collaborative and dynamic process. There are equal parts talking, moving, exploring, and feeling during our sessions. Curiosity is key.
  • There will always be space held to share, reflect, and process as you feel comfortable. These are your sessions and it’s important you get what you need from them.
